Parents: Your Club Coach is responsible for entering your child into this tournament. Please note there are established weight classes for this tournament and your wrestler must make weight for the weight class they choose. All weight classes will be given a +1 pound allowance for singlets. Please note some weight classes could be combined during the seeding meeting. Please consult with your club coach for additional information and instructions. VHSL RULES WILL APPLY. FOR EXAMPLE: YOUR WRESTLER WILL BE REQUIRED TO WEAR HEADGEAR AND ANY OTHER PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT AS REQUIRED BY VHSL RULES SUCH AS MOUTHPIECE FOR BRACES, HAIR NET FOR LONG HAIR ETC. PLEASE CONSULT WITH YOUR CLUB COACH FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.

Information for Club Coaches: You will receive log in credentials and instructions on how to enter your wrestlers via Track Wrestling. All wrestlers must be entered by Wednesday January 29th, 202 at 11:59pm. You may enter more than one wrestler per weight class but you must designate one as the scoring wrestler at the seed meeting which will be held Thursday Jan 30th, 2020 6:30pm at Rustburg High School. Every club should send at least one representative to the meeting.

Please bring a list of your coaches and their USAW current member number. No coach will be allowed on the mat without one. Wristbands will be distributed at the meeting for the coaches. No one without a wristband will be allowed in the corner during matches at the tournament. Only two coaches will be allowed on the corner of a mat during a match. Please submit the name of 2 volunteers from your club to work a mat during the tournament. These names should be submitted no later than the night of the seed meeting. Weight classes may be combined at the seed meeting upon agreement by the seed committee.

Cost will be $20 per wrestler. Spectators will be free. VHSL RULES WILL APPLY.

Elementary Divisions

Weigh-in for K-2 and 3-5 grades 7:30-8:00am.

Wrestling starts at 9:00am

Grades K-2 (+1 pound allowance for each weight class)

Weight Classes: 43, 45, 49, 53, 56, 62, 70, 85, 100

Grades 3-5

Weight Classes: 53, 59, 63, 67, 71, 77, 84, 93, 105, 120, 135

Wrestling starts upon completion of the elementary divisions.

USA Wrestling

The CVYWA supports USA Wrestling. In order to participate as an athlete, coach, official, or tournament director in sanctioned USA wrestling events you must obtain an individual yearly membership. Most events/tournaments that you will participate in are USA wrestling sanctioned events, particularly State events such as VAWA elementary and middle School states and VACW High school super states,freestyle states and Greco states (which are Fargo qualifiers) and VACW challenge series. These events require at minimum for the athlete a folkstyle membership card. For athletes that want to wrestle Freestyle and Greco off season you will need to obtain a membership card that includes these styles as well.
